22 Rimfire PRS (Precision Rifle Shooting)

The Match Director is Justin Fritz at (785)-342-4326 or email justinfritz83@gmail.com.

Location of the matches is at the Tappan Hill Gun Club 1 1/4 miles west from Highway 81 on Bell Road.

The Rimfire PRS style matches will be shot on Sunday of the third Sunday of the third weekend of each month. Starting promptly at 9 am.  These matches will consist of shooting off hand, prone, sitting, kneeling, and off obstacles. There will also be stages that require a .22 LR pistol.  If you don't have one, don't worry, you will be able to borrow one.

The layout of each match will vary, but we will try to keep it to around 50 rounds. Shots will vary from 40 meters to 200 meters.

After each match we will have a top shot contest with a $1 buy in and the winner takes the pot.   So, if you want to participate in that, don't forget some dollar bills.  No special equipment is necessary, but if you have things such as a spotting scope it would be useful. Bring any Rimfire you have:  We just recommend that it be scoped, but it is not required. However, it will be easier for you, as some targets are rather small.  Any further instructions will be discussed before each match.

Match fees are $15 for members, $20 for non-members, and $10 for youth  (15 and under).

Dates for 2017 events are: PRS Rimfire is on the Third Sunday of each Month or following Centerfire matches on Saturday.

April  16 Saturday after Centerfire ~ May 21 Sunday ~ June 18 Sunday ~ July 15 Saturday after Centerfire ~ Aug  20 Sunday ~ Sept 17 Sunday ~ Oct 22 Sunday

Centerfire PRS (Precision Rifle Shooting)

The Match Director is Justin Fritz at (785)-342-4326 or email justinfritz83@gmail.com.

Location of the matches is at the Tappan Hill Gun Club 1 1/4 miles west from Highway 81 on Bell Road.

PRS style center fire matches will be held on Saturday of the 3rd weekend of each month.

These maches will consist of shooters laying prone (front and back support are allowed) from the firing line and engaging targets from 200, 300, 385 and 500 meters. There will be 5 targets at each bank that will be about 1 MOA in size. Those targets will be shot for score. There will also be a larger target set for use as a sighter, you will only be allowed 1 shot at the sighter before you start to shoot for a score.

If you need to come early and get some drop data for scope settings we will open the range at 8 am.  We recommend that you bring at least 40 rounds and some water and snacks. These matches are shot in teams, so if you have a spotting scope, that would be very useful, as would a shooting mat.

We welcome all types of firearms and shooters but we have a no magnum and no full metal jacket ammo policy.  These matches are more for learning and having fun then for actual competition so bring what you have and join in the fun.  There will be further instructions given at the beginning of each match.

Match fees are  $15 for members,  $20 for non-members and $10 for youth  (15 and under).

Dates for 2017 events are on the 3rd Saturday of each month:
